All up in the air!

Well after going for my 20wk scan, I'm now unsure on what sex the baby actually is!

Everything was looking great. All measurements were taken as best as the sonographer could get, as the little mite was laying on it's tummy at an awkward angle! Which in turn, proved awkward in telling the sex.
But from the potty shots she could get, she reckons it's a girl, as she couldn't see any 'dangle' between the legs.

So now this has left me a bit upset, as it's changed everything my family and I had got used to over the last 4wks. And we are still unsure whether to believe it, as the baby was being rather awkward!

So we have now booked in for a gender scan on Monday when I'll be 21wks 4days :-)

Ready Steady ... Cook!

Decided to bake some scones yesterday with Harry, whilst the other kids were at school and nursery.
I got a sudden craving for them, so I raided the kitchen cupboards and looked up a basic recipe online! Baked just over two dozen, but they haven't lasted very long, not between the six of us! What's your favourite filling? Butter, jam or both?

Harry helped to mix the dry ingredients, after he'd sampled the caster sugar.

After I helped knead the dough together, Harry rolled it out and cut out the scones.

And here's our finished product, rolled them a bit too thin, so haven't risen well, but they were still scrummy :)

Gender reveal... BOY... or... GIRL?

Well after having a great 12wk scan, where we found that everything was doing great, baby was healthy and measuring bang on for dates, I wanted a private scan to determine whether we were going to be buying Blue or Pink items!

I went for my 16wk appointment with the Midwife on Thursday, and had a listen to the heartbeat. Perfect! Now I had another 4 weeks before my 20wk anatomy scan, where it is now fairly safe to tell what sex the baby is. I couldn't wait that long to find out. I'm a fairly well organised person, and seeing as I have less than 6mths (and counting!) left until the big day, I needed to know for my own sake, so I can buy the odd thing here and there when we can afford to.

Here is Maxwell Bradley Wilkinson :)

A day for wearing glasses!

Well I really hoped I'd never see a day when any of my children needed glasses!

Well, low and behold, today was that day.

Lexi my eldest daughter was tested as being short sighted. Following in her Daddy's large footsteps, she has been fitted with some lovely burgundy butterfly frames. They do suit her, but it still makes me sad.

Being a person with 20/20 vision, and married to someone who has worse eyesight than a bat, I know which I'd prefer! Nick's prescriptions for his glasses cost us a fortune every couple of years (if we're lucky) and I really don't want that for my kids.

But here she is, I must say she does suit them better than I anticipated :)
